The 2018 Lexus RC F V8 Sports Luxury Coupe
Nothing Stands in its Way
The RC F is the most powerful V8 performance car ever developed by Lexus. Its 5.0L V8 engine produces a pulse-pounding 467 horsepower and 389 lb-ft of torque, all harnessed by a sophisticated 8-speed automatic transmission. True to its performance ideal, the RC F is only available in RWD.
The RC F’s engine combines an Atkinson Cycle and an Otto Cycle for improved fuel efficiency at lower speeds and performance at higher speeds. A first for Lexus, the RC F introduces a torque vectoring differential, a system that proactively manages traction in, through and out of corners. In every aspect, the RC F dominates the road.
The RC F’s interior perfectly complements the aggressive lines of the exterior, featuring a sleek instrument panel inspired by the LFA. The 7″ navigation screen introduces another Lexus first – a touchpad remote interface. Similar to mobile devices or laptops, the RC F’s touchpad interface lets you manage systems like navigation, climate control and multimedia simply by swiping your hand over the screen.
Modern technology comes together with rich features in the interior like a new elliptical cross-section thick-grip steering wheel designed for optimal placement of paddle gearshifts. High-back seats emblazoned with an embossed “F” on the headrests hug the driver and passenger for secure comfort – even if you happen to be hitting 100mph on the racetrack.
Rare is the Union of Beauty and Function
Look at the RC F as a whole, and you will see a piece of art. But look closer, and you will see that Lexus engineers have carefully crafted every exterior component for optimal performance as well as beauty. Every part has a purpose: the RC F’s L-shaped hood scoops cool the engine while reducing aerodynamic lift at higher speeds and the aggressive bodylines feature carbon fibre components to increase strength while reducing weight.
Just like the Lexus LFA, the RC F features an active rear wing that extends at speeds over 50 mph to create downward force over the 19″ rear wheels and tires. Every element of the RC F’s exterior suggests barely-restrained power and aggression; it’s just waiting for the right driver to unleash it.
